By Douglas F. Kelly with Caroline Switzer Kelly

Carolina Scots offers a rich resource for understanding and tracing Scottish ancestry and heritage. Part I is a historical study of early emigrations following the lead of the Argyll colony in 1739. It explains the background and reasons for Scottish emigration, with excerpts from 17th, 18th and 19th century sources describing life both in Scotland and the new settlements of the Carolinas.  Part II provides a comprehensive listing of names and locations of Scottish North and South Carolina Families beginning in 1739 and continuing with the descendants up to five generations. Hardbound 484 pages.
